General Assembly cancelled for the first time in centuries

With The General Assembly cancelled for the first time in centuries May will be different this year for the Kirk.

A New Moderator will be installed: Rev Dr Martin Fair has been nominated as Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland and an online Service of Installation will be broadcast by Internet on Saturday, 16th May at 11.00am. This will be a very special moment in the history of our Church, and will also be an event where we can be assured of hope and inspiration in these challenging times. . You will be able to watch the event live on the Church of Scotland website (www.churchofscotland.org.uk) and live on the Facebook page (fb.me/churchofscotland).

Heart and Soul: This afternoon event in Princes Street Gardens has become a regular feature of Assembly Week and a special online version will be broadcast by internet webcast on Sunday 17th May between 2.00pm and 4.30pm. . You will be able to watch the event live on the Church of Scotland website (www.churchofscotland.org.uk ) and live on the Facebook page (fb.me/churchofscotland). It will feature music, interviews and the opportunity to join in a “Big Sing” which is sure to feature favourite hymns.
