Sunday Worship

Our Churches

Our Churches

Aberlady Parish Church and Gullane Parish Church are both active churches in the village communities of Aberlady and Gullane, in the beautiful surroundings of East Lothian.

On the pages of our website we aim to give you a good overview of all current activities at each church, the history of the churches, and the many shared activities that we undertake together because the churches are linked. At the heart of our church life is worship on a Sunday to which all are welcome whatever their age, and whatever their stage of faith. Church is not just for a Sunday and so we hope that you will feel welcome to join us at any of our weekly activities and other events throughout the year as we seek to grow together in fellowship and faith in this time and place.

Aberlady and Gullane Parish Churches are part of the Church of Scotland and so we adopt the vision of our National Church which is ‘to be a church which seeks to inspire the people of Scotland and beyond with the good news of Jesus Christ through enthusiastic worshipping, witnessing, nurturing and serving communities.’

Worship

Worship is central to the life of the Church.

Our churches in Aberlady and Gullane Parishes are active, open and welcoming to those of all ages and at all stages in their faith journey. We have been linked together for over twenty-five years and though we have separate locations for Sunday worship there is also much that we do together.

Throughout the year we offer a variety of Services.

Morning worship at Gullane is at 9.45 – 10.45am, and at Aberlady at 11.15 – 12.15pm

These Services are led by the minister and you can find the Order of Service for the week ahead on our Worship page.

Refreshments are served at Gullane after the service. Currently, we are meeting for coffee in The Old Clubhouse, all are welcome to stay.

The Sacrament of Holy Communion is celebrated four times a year.

We hope that as you join us for worship on a Sunday you will find a warm welcome.

Faith Development

We are all at different stages of faith whatever age we are.

At Aberlady and Gullane, we seek to give opportunities for people to grow in their relationship with God. These vary from year to year. Each year in the period of Lent we run a weekly study group.

At other times we aim to run courses either centred round the fundamentals of the Christian faith or centred round growing in confidence and relationshipwith God as we live out our faith both within the church community and in all that our daily lives may hold.

Watch this space for opportunities on offer.
